The 9 DeKalb Avenue project is a new high-rise residential building in downtown Brooklyn designed by SHoP Architects for the JDS Development Group. The tower, circa 1,000ft in height, contains approximately 550 apartments over 73 above grade stories. It sits above a retail/assembly podium predominately comprising the Brooklyn Dime Savings Bank which was completed in 1908 and designated a New York City landmark in 1994. The remainder of the podium contains a variety of retail units in addition to a private/public gym and rooftop amenities including pools, cafes and bars.
Working for SHoP Architects, HKA is providing fully code consulting services on the project.
